Makati City, Philippines — The SFI Group presented its advocacies and initiatives in the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (PCCI) 5th National Education Forum with the theme, “Aligning Business Education in the Context of ASEAN Economic Integration.” The event was held on August 27, 2015 at the AVR Penthouse, Board of Investments building.
Mr. Luis Alberto Anastacio, President and CEO of SFI Group, delivered a substantive talk before educational managers and academicians from the different schools all over the Philippines.
He astounded them with the progress of the group’s workforce development programs in the country, such as the SFI-DOLE Philippine Talent Map Initiative (PTMI) and ACT Efficacy Study in Bataan, as well as partnerships built with local and international organizations.
Mr. Anastacio provided relevant and up-to-date information on the current trends in the local and global workforce, as well as on how SFI’s initiatives will benefit Filipinos amidst the challenges of ASEAN integration and K-12. But most importantly, he opened an opportunity for collaboration with schools, government and industries to align with each other to address workforce issues through the creative and innovative efforts.
The talk gained positive reactions from the audience. Three academicians from both private and public universities shared their insights on the relevance of TalentMap to students, specifically in their career preparations, as well as schools readiness for 21st century skills and global standards.
Mr. Anastacio was joined by Ms. Gina Jusay, PTMI Project Head and Business Unit Head of SFI Career Center, and, Mr. Richard Monteverde, SFI Career Center Senior Career Coach.
Also present during to the event were, Dr. Eduardo Ong, PCCI’s Chairman for Education of PCCI, and PCCI President, Mr. Alfredo M. Yao.
