According to Mother Teresa, “It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.” We barely see the essence of every blessing we receive until we share it to those who need it the most. To give is eventually more fulfilling if we put our hearts in what we do to help.

Last Sunday, February 22, 2015, SFIGC took part in the third annual benefit fun run dubbed as “Run to Fe3d,” which was held at the Ateneo De Manila University grounds. The activity started in 2013 when the Ateneo Center for Educational Development (ACED) initiated an advocacy to raise awareness, support and money for public school development. Proceeds of the run will be used to aid ACED in organizing various programs, particularly feeding in public elementary schools, which includes those in Quezon City, Cainta, Kananga and Ormoc. This year’s fun run, as it is more special because of the Ateneo Cervini Hall’s celebration of its 50th year, was attended by thousands of registrants from various groups – students, alumni, and people from different organizations and families. Guns roared at exactly 5:45 in the morning to indicate the start of the 8K distance run followed by the 5K and 3K at 6:00 and 6:15, respectively. Organizers provided refreshments and food for all runners after the activity. Top finishers were also given recognition and rewards.

To uphold Genuine Concern for People as one of SFI’s core values is the very objective of the company’s participation in the event. SFIGC employees of different levels from each department went to embrace the fun of helping and being fit. It may look like a simple gesture but being able to impart a portion of our lives is a substantial feeling of satisfaction. The organization’s representation was spearheaded by the ever vibrant President & COO himself, Mr. Luis Alberto Anastacio and his family. Smiles from the faces of our participants, as they reached the finish line, manifest the victory of surpassing distances to contribute to the growth of many children. This is another breakthrough to be added to our profile. This is a palpable expression of our cause to bring change in the society. Kudos to SFIGC!
